i'm so hot that i'm in love with the refrigerator

Current temperature: 32 °C
Currently listening: -None-

the insane weather has been on the front page of most newspapers this time around. everyday i read news like houses on fire, bushfire and stoppages of transportation system due to the heat. it was reported that the heatwave is most severe in Adelaide and the rate of sudden deaths among people have been increasing that include 19 people who died due to the extreme heat. the ambulance crews in adelaide were busy all day long with a record breaking 1325 callouts in just 24 hours and in a single afternoon yesterday, 80 individuals were admitted into hospitals with heat related illness. omg. this heat is seriously gonna kill more people if it doesnt stop. in order to protect themselves from the heat, people have been getting really creative. some people had even put their clothes into the freezer. lol. desperate times call for desperate measures. there are some others that laid on damp towels and some slept with a frozen water bottle. their creativity is just amazing. some experts in the field provided their predictions that the temperature in melbourne will decrease but not in adelaide. the heat in adelaide will not ease. sigh.

summertime

Current temperature: 37 °C
Currently listening: LFO- Summergirls

with the hot weather, we decided to head to somewhere with air conditioning for our breakfast today. belle recommended Ding Hao restaurant to have some dim sum as she was craving for the deep fried tentacles that she had few days back.
waiting for the bus to arrive was the most torturing part of the day. the sun was burning our skin and the whole place was just so hot. to make things worse, we waited for almost half an hour before the bus finally arrive.

so finally we reached the place and started to order some food. i must say the air conditioning was the best thing in that restaurant. it's not the coolest air conditioning, but at least there was some cool gentle breeze.

alright that was about all for the meal. anyway, below is a little something i got for the little monster i have back at home in malaysia. microsoft reclusa keyboard. well, that budak has always wanted a keyboard with backlights. so here u go...
dude, this is just a preview for u before u actually get the real thing. hahaha.

alright, enough for this time. some other time.

summer time is surely the worst time for someone to be in australia. i've got 2 stand fans in my room but they aint doing any good. anyway, back to yesterday, it was so hot that the trams in adelaide couldnt operate. lol. that's a record breaker. that was pretty interesting. as for my laptop, it 'hang kei-ed' for like a million times yesterday. the laptop was just so hot that i thought it might explode any second. i've got a laptop cooler underneath it, but it doesnt seem to be able to overcome the summer heat. well, the australian open, the annual tennis tournament, is happening right now in melbourne. with that current heat, i do wonder how do all the players survive under the hot sun.. anyway, enough said.

killer temperature

Current temperature: 42 °C
Currently listening: Keane- Somewhere Only We Know

fuck la this time... 42 fucking degrees... 42 fucking big ones!!! that would be a record breaker. the highest i've ever experienced was 41°C and already i thought that was a nightmare but look at what's happening now. i could hardly sit still. kept sweating for the entire day. no use going for a shower, i'll be sweating again the moment i step out of the bathroom. the heat is just insane. according to the weather forecast, this 'extremely hot' weather will continue for like another 2-3 days before the temperature will drop by a little bit. seriously, what a weather to usher in the chinese new year. with the current temperature, it looks like we're ushering in the year of the roasted ox.

considering the fact that it was chinese new year's eve today and since we've got nothing much to do, we decided to cook something nice to fill up our stomach. anyway, below are the photos captured.

it's a very hot day once again. it is only slightly better than the previous hot day. thank god i'm in my cooling bedroom with two fans blowing cool wind right at my face. anyway, after giving it a serious consideration yesterday, i've decided to not go for the training session today. i'm really not in the mood to work without pay. lol. moving on to an unrelated note, there's a huge pimple on my chin. i gotta say that the bloody pimple is so killing me. the pain and the feeling of discomfort is torturing me. it has gone so swollen that i can feel my mouth has gone senget.done with this post. siens siens siens siens.

double dillema

Current temperature: 23 °C
Currently listening: Buckcherry- Sorry

the dude from Happy Bean just called. in case u didnt know, Happy Bean was the shop that i went for training few days back. well, when i heard my phone ringing and noticed Happy Bean as the called ID, i didnt have a clue what it was about. all i thought was 50 to 50, hire or fire. but something totally out of my imagination popped up. he asked me to go for another session of training, this time in the customer service section. frankly speaking, if he mentioned that he's gonna pay me for that training session, i've got no problem at all to attend the training session. but the bad thing is, it is yet another no- pay- training day. seriously, i've worked without pay for three hours for the previous session and now u're asking me for another three hours?? dillema struck me yet again. he mentioned that this would be the final training session. therefore it'll be make or break this time. however i'm having doubts whether should i go or not this time around. i cant think properly right now. my mind is flooded with plenty of things. company valuation, literature review, Happy Bean. he gave me time to think about it and to tell him my decision tomorrow. anyhow, i'll give it a serious thought tonight before going to bed. sigh.. decisions in life that i've gotta make are sometimes very stressful. it's all good if i made the right one, but i'll be screwed if i ever made a wrong one. time to let it go for a moment. got something more important to concentrate on. cya!!

exhausted, very bloody exhausted

Current temperature: 23 °C
Currently listening: Bowling for Soup- 1985

yesterday was a tiring day. remember the interview i talked about in my previous post? apparently, it was a confusion they made in handling the resumes sent in to them. well, they made me travel all the fucking way to glenelg for the interview and to tell me that there was a confusion. however, they were kind enough to say that i should attend one trial session as a kitchen helper to find out whether i am suitable for the job or not. that's when dilemma struck me. a part of me kept telling me not to go coz from what i think, they offer me the trial session just to make me feel better since they made the confusion in the very first place. they dont wanna act 'mr. bad guy' by asking me to go back due to a very bad mistake that they made. however, another part of me insisted that i shall go ahead for the trial session with hope that i can secure the job if i performed well for the job. in my mind i thought i should give it a try and keep my fingers crossed that i'll get hired. if i try, i might have a 50% chance of getting hired. but if i never try, i'll never know. in the end, i chose option 2 and went for the trial session. i just didnt wanna have any regrets later on. so off i went to try out the job as a kitchen helper. to be honest, i did work my ass off. that was my first time working in the kitchen and i have gotta admit that, it's really tough to work as a kitchen helper. basically, u gotta do everything, like cutting vegetables, poultry, get rice from the rice pot, help cook some minor dishes. the bottom line is, u have gotta be 'mr. versatile', lol, if that's the right word to describe it. i was so tired yesterday that i slept from 9.30pm till 9.30am the very next day. right now, i'm just waiting for the dude's decision. anyway, that's all this time around. take care people!!

nothing much at this moment

Current temperature: 25 °C
Currently listening: Busted- That's What I Go To School For

i'm really relieved with the lower temperature today. i gotta tell u, i almost fainted being at home yesterday. the whole house was so hot and stuffy. i could barely breathe for the whole day. right now, i'm currently stuck with a company valuation assignment. this sort of valuation assignments are like the worst of the lot, a real pain in the ass. as if valuation is not hard enough, a detailed formal report is also required. well, to complete the report isnt that hard, it's the calculations part that is totally driving me nuts. to make things even more terrible, the company that we are required to perform a valuation is Allco Finance Group, a company that recently filed for bankruptcy. i just dont understand the reason behind the valuation of a bankrupt company. even the license for their official website has been suspended which make things a little bit harder. thank god for the existence of Google, which is a wonderful place to being the assignment with. anyway, gotta go right now.

something familiar appeared again

Current temperature: 41 fucking °C
Currently listening: Lady GaGa- Poker Face

today is a very fucking hot day. the temperature is over 40 degrees and the whole place is so extremely hot. as i walked to board a tram today, i must tell you, the heatwave was unbearable. sigh, unwanted sun tan. i was just under the sun for like what... 20 minutes, and my skin got darker. the fan seem to be useless under this extreme weather condition. i took a shower in the morning and i felt like going into the bathroom for another shower. this sorta heat is definitely not normal. it'll surely kill me someday. sorry for the exaggeration but you gotta be here to feel it yourself to actually get what i'm trying to express. even my laptop is responding to the extreme heat. it's not as responsive as it used to be. thank god for the laptop cooler. without the cooler, i think my laptop would be deep fried. lol. sweaty hands, legs and armpits!! gosh, i hate being exposed to all the heat. back to being in the tram, there's this black dude that was partially drunk i guess. he talked cock all the way to glenelg. there was one interesting thing he said that i found amusing..

Black dude: yay, i'm going to the beach for a swim!! i can smell the sea salt, mate. i'm going to the beach to get some sea salt for my steak tonight.

Random fella: What steak are you having tonight?

Black dude: Nah, my steak is actually my girlfriend.

Random fella: Oh okay, ur girlfriend is your steak.. then what are you?

Black dude: Well, i'm the sausage. haha.

Later on..

Black dude: with this weather i think i'm gonna get a sun tan at the beach later.

Random fella: ah.. fuck you. you cant get anymore blacker than what you already are. (lol. mean fella)

Black dude: *showing middle finger* Fuck you, bastard!! you Shut the Fuck up!!

hahahah.

the random fella was another tipsy fella who couldnt even walk straight. in the end, they fucked the living shit out of each other. hhahaha. that actually made my 45 minutes tram journey to glenelg less boring.

hopefully tomorrow would be a better day. i do wonder how many 40 °C days i can get through before losing my mind. lol. anyway, this post was to fulfil my sudden urge to complain.

truckload of photos

alright, how should i begin? a week before, we suddenly had the idea and urge to go on a road trip to places we've never been to before. so immediately we went online to book for a car and start looking for interesting places in south australia.

so below, our tour guide for the entire road trip, 2 days to be precise. a Garmin satnav system. this sorta GPS navigation thingy is a wonderful invention.
so yeah, through the car online booking system, since there was only 2 of us, why the hell do we need a huge car right? so, the cheapest of the lot, a Hyundai Getz. however, there was a little twist in between. when we went there to get the car, the lady started explaining the rules and regulations to us. who cares about the rules, we just wanna get started on our trip ASAP. so, as soon as she's done talking, she gave us the key and said 'alright, here are the keys, it's a red lancer parked in bay 4'. huh?? i thought we booked for a tiny Getz. but who cares, getting a Lancer for the price of a Getz. at last, we can get started on our trip.
when we entered the car, the smell was familiar. it was the 'new car smell' if u get wat i mean. when we ran through the warranty booklet, it was bought on november 2008. wow, cool!!

so, there we were, tapping on the touchscreen of the GPS, entering the address and all.
alright.. on our way to the first destination, Cleland Wildlife Park. the reason for this destination... belle has wanted to hug a koala for ages. so yeah, we went there for the koala.

some big ass lizard
getting into this sorta wildlife park, where the animals can roam freely, there was only one thing that popped into my mind.. FEAR! as u know, i've got this fear for furry animals.

seriously, with those big ass kangaroos jumping around, it took me a lot of courage to really walk into that jungle. once and for all. that's it. lol. no next time.
too busy looking around to check out any oncoming animals till i ignored the camera.

there it is, the koalas. seriously, koalas aint that cute. they look kinda ugly anyway. lol. no offense to koala lovers, but they just aint pretty.
finally, she got what she came for, a koala hug.

black swans and damn they are black.

these two creatures below, i'm not too sure what's that, a pelican maybe?? but those two are huge. might not look that big on photos, but trust me, they are gigantic when u look at them close- up.

this one below, notice all the rocks, that's the place of the wallabies. some rock wallabies, to be exact.

second destination was Hahndorf, the German village, well, when u think of the Germans, it's gonna be beer, sausage and pork, lots and lots of pork. this meal below cost us 52 bucks but it's for 2 people. tasted kinda nice anyway.

below would be some random shops along the street of Hahndorf.

tired of Hahndorf, we drove further up the hill to get to Beerenberg Farm for strawberry picking.

everyone went down with a container full of strawberries. as for us, we managed to pick only 8. sad case right?? lol. 1.30 for that 8 strawberries. hahaha.

so for the second day, which was today, we headed down to Barossa Valley to get some wine. from what i read in the barossa website, wines from peter lehmann has pretty good reviews. so first place was peter lehmann cellar door.

then off we went to Penfolds. we've been there previously, but we went there again to get a red wine from the Bin range. well, we're not really experts in wine, but the Bin range was kinda like a Penfolds specialty.
wine tasting, from peter lehmann to Penfolds. u can get tipsy just by tasting. lol.

last destination in the barossa was Wolf Blass. the eagle logo really attracts me. lol. i dunno y, but i juts find it attractive.

after wolf blass, we've got too much time on our hand. we cant think of anywhere else to go. as we were heading back to adelaide CBD, we saw this elizabeth shopping center. so we decided to go for a stroll in this shopping mall.
after that, we're out of ideas again on where to go. poke and poke on the iphone hoping to search for some place that is special. unfortunately, cant locate any. final decision, MARION SHOPPING CENTER!!

after marion, we made up our minds to go for 'all u can eat' session. reached there slightly earlier and that place wasnt open yet. lepak-ed in the car to kill some time.

that was our final destination. headed to coles after that for some grocery shopping and went back home right after that.
at the end of the day, 7 bottles of wine bought in 2 days. 2 from Penfolds, 1 from Hahndorf Hills, 3 from Wolf Blass and 1 from Peter Lehmann.
alright then, it was really tiring to complete this post. loads of photos and it took me forever to upload them. must rest now. heading for an interview tomoro. wish me luck people.
