alright, how should i begin? a week before, we suddenly had the idea and urge to go on a road trip to places we've never been to before. so immediately we went online to book for a car and start looking for interesting places in south australia.
so below, our tour guide for the entire road trip, 2 days to be precise. a Garmin satnav system. this sorta GPS navigation thingy is a wonderful invention.
so yeah, through the car online booking system, since there was only 2 of us, why the hell do we need a huge car right? so, the cheapest of the lot, a Hyundai Getz. however, there was a little twist in between. when we went there to get the car, the lady started explaining the rules and regulations to us. who cares about the rules, we just wanna get started on our trip ASAP. so, as soon as she's done talking, she gave us the key and said 'alright, here are the keys, it's a red lancer parked in bay 4'. huh?? i thought we booked for a tiny Getz. but who cares, getting a Lancer for the price of a Getz. at last, we can get started on our trip.so below, our tour guide for the entire road trip, 2 days to be precise. a Garmin satnav system. this sorta GPS navigation thingy is a wonderful invention.
when we entered the car, the smell was familiar. it was the 'new car smell' if u get wat i mean. when we ran through the warranty booklet, it was bought on november 2008. wow, cool!!
so, there we were, tapping on the touchscreen of the GPS, entering the address and all.
alright.. on our way to the first destination, Cleland Wildlife Park. the reason for this destination... belle has wanted to hug a koala for ages. so yeah, we went there for the koala.
getting into this sorta wildlife park, where the animals can roam freely, there was only one thing that popped into my mind.. FEAR! as u know, i've got this fear for furry animals.
seriously, with those big ass kangaroos jumping around, it took me a lot of courage to really walk into that jungle. once and for all. that's it. lol. no next time.
too busy looking around to check out any oncoming animals till i ignored the camera.
there it is, the koalas. seriously, koalas aint that cute. they look kinda ugly anyway. lol. no offense to koala lovers, but they just aint pretty.
finally, she got what she came for, a koala hug.
these two creatures below, i'm not too sure what's that, a pelican maybe?? but those two are huge. might not look that big on photos, but trust me, they are gigantic when u look at them close- up.
this one below, notice all the rocks, that's the place of the wallabies. some rock wallabies, to be exact.
second destination was Hahndorf, the German village, well, when u think of the Germans, it's gonna be beer, sausage and pork, lots and lots of pork. this meal below cost us 52 bucks but it's for 2 people. tasted kinda nice anyway.
below would be some random shops along the street of Hahndorf.
tired of Hahndorf, we drove further up the hill to get to Beerenberg Farm for strawberry picking.
everyone went down with a container full of strawberries. as for us, we managed to pick only 8. sad case right?? lol. 1.30 for that 8 strawberries. hahaha.
so for the second day, which was today, we headed down to Barossa Valley to get some wine. from what i read in the barossa website, wines from peter lehmann has pretty good reviews. so first place was peter lehmann cellar door.
then off we went to Penfolds. we've been there previously, but we went there again to get a red wine from the Bin range. well, we're not really experts in wine, but the Bin range was kinda like a Penfolds specialty.
wine tasting, from peter lehmann to Penfolds. u can get tipsy just by tasting. lol.
last destination in the barossa was Wolf Blass. the eagle logo really attracts me. lol. i dunno y, but i juts find it attractive.
after wolf blass, we've got too much time on our hand. we cant think of anywhere else to go. as we were heading back to adelaide CBD, we saw this elizabeth shopping center. so we decided to go for a stroll in this shopping mall.
after marion, we made up our minds to go for 'all u can eat' session. reached there slightly earlier and that place wasnt open yet. lepak-ed in the car to kill some time.
that was our final destination. headed to coles after that for some grocery shopping and went back home right after that.
at the end of the day, 7 bottles of wine bought in 2 days. 2 from Penfolds, 1 from Hahndorf Hills, 3 from Wolf Blass and 1 from Peter Lehmann.
alright then, it was really tiring to complete this post. loads of photos and it took me forever to upload them. must rest now. heading for an interview tomoro. wish me luck people.
CHEERS!!!
